Programs

Help us take action by helping with our programs

The DI Exchange Club is Committed To Service

ACE Scholarship

Accepting the Challenge of Excellence (ACE) Scholarship is given each year to a senior high school student living in the 29492 zip code. The winner is also submitted to compete at the District level.  The scholarship award is $1,000 for tuition.

Angel Tree

The Humanities Foundation is one of our sponsored charities. Each year we sponsor children living in the Humanities Foundation facility on Daniel Island. We purchase gifts from their wish lists for the parents to deliver on Christmas morning.

Dining for good

We hold  a fundraising raffle the month of October with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit local children’s charities. Our Dining for Good Raffle last year not only garnered over $14,000 but also raised awareness about the good that these local charities do for our children and community.

Field of Honor

Each 4th of July, the club installs 700 flags along River Landing Drive. You may purchase a flag and dedicate a streamer to your heroes: veterans, military, family, cancer survivors, teachers – anyone who you wish to honor.  Proceeds go to local veterans organizations.  Click here to download a flag order form.

Flag Displays

The Club installs 120 flags along the entry to the DI Golf Club on several patriotic holidays.

Flag Disposal

The Club collects faded, worn, and torn flags for proper disposal. A collection box is located outside Beacon Community Bank on Fairchild Street near Starbucks.

Honor Banners

Honor banners are displayed from Memorial Day through 9/11 and are good for 5 years. They honor veterans, active duty military, first responders, police, and firemen. Click HERE to download an order form to remember your service person. Proceeds are used to fund many of our programs.

Pinwheels

Pinwheels for Great Childhoods – raising awareness together. In April, the club installs blue pinwheels at local schools. To donate and learn more about our mission visit ww.bluepinwheels.com. Pinwheels may be purchased from the Club to display in your yard during the month of April. Proceeds raised are donated to local child advocacy organizations.

Project Zero

The goal of Project Zero is to drive the number of homeless veterans in SC to ZERO. Our partners, Veterans Matter and HUD, identify the veterans and housing. We raise funds for the security deposits needed for rent and utilities  before the veterans can move in. By mid 2021, the Club raised funds to house 117 homeless veterans and their families in the lowcountry. Now we have our sites set on the whole state. To donate send us an email at presidentDIXchangeclub@gmail.com.

Time Out Teddy Bears

The Club provides Time Out Teddy Bears to Police, Fire Departments, and First Responders on Daniel Island. They  carry the bears in their vehicles for children in stressful situations such as auto accidents, fires, or injury. The cute bears can offer a little comfort for a child.
